5 Mindset changes you need to make to allow you to achieve your goals

Over the years I have learnt that I hold the power. I can choose to achieve my desired goals, and my own positive mindset is what will bring me success in my own little bubble we call my life.

Since mindset issues are far from my wheelhouse of knowledge, I have done my own research and in my own experience I have compiled 5 easy Mindset shifts that you can make to allow you to achieve your goals.

Now I am not saying that these in themselves will bring you good fortune, but I am 95% sure you will see some positive changes come along your way when you implement these strategies into your day to day routine

MINDSET CHANGE 1. – simple is sustainable

Make small easy changes to your habits that you can maintain forever. Overwhelming yourself with workload, or an exercise routine that you can’t manage, or nutrition demands that are beyond different to what you are used to, creates an uneasy process and your “why” becomes lost in the emotions of actually trying to get it done.

If you are trying to lose weight, then start by getting active frequently. When you have mastered that habit move onto the eating regular nutritious meals. When you have mastered that habit then move onto pushing your boundaries with your training or adding in an extra session for the week and so on.

Keeping things simple will allow you be able to sustain these new healthy habits.

MINDSET CHANGE 2. IT IS NOT TOO HARD

I despise it when someone tells me that exercise is too hard or meal prep on a Sunday is just too hard or that it is so hard to drink more than 2L of water every day.

It is never too hard, it will only be as hard as you tell yourself it is.

Try and take a deep breath and think about how else you could re-word the “that is too hard” that is about to come out of your mouth.

MINDSET CHANGE 3.  CHOOSING YOU IS SOMETHING YOU SHOULD DO EVERYDAY

You are always deserving of your own time to do something for you.

I did not think so, for a very long time and only now have I implemented this non-selfish act into my weekly routine.

Change your thought process that it is selfish to choose yourself, because it most definitely is not.

Ask yourself how do you feel if you do not get active? If you do not eat good nutritious food? If you do not take time out for yourself for massages, beauty therapy, natural therapies, time out relaxing with your family?

If your answer is sluggish, unhappy, moody, and blank.

Can you imagine if you felt the benefits from feeling energetic, health, happy, stress free & strong?

By doing more for you this will allow you to be positive and feeling fantastic about your life.

MINDSET CHANGE 4.  TO SAY YOU WILL TRY IS BASICALLY SAYING YOU WONT ACHIEVE.

Make your goals a reality.

Can you see the difference between these two statements?

I will lose 10kg fit into a size 10 jeans by [insert 2 month date]

I will definitely try my absolute hardest to lose 10kg and fit into size 10 jeans in 2 months

Be positive and be present

Change your language to represent the same every day. Take a deep breath and think about what you are about to say instead of just having word vomit.

Our subconscious mind will take over throughout the day, so it is imperative that we re-train this subconscious to this powerful, positive and present mindset at all time.

MINDSET CHANGE 5. BE CONFIDENT

I struggle with this one almost every week, but I am learning to pick up on the down moments that I have and to remind myself of my why and believe in myself that I can achieve all that I want to.

Be confident in your goals. Start living the way you would if you were 10kg lighter and fitting into size 10 jeans.

OK LET’S DO IT

Now it is time to put these to practice.

You do not need to implement every change at once but instead choose one that resonates well with you right at this moment and get a head start.

And when you feel ready implement your next and so on.

In 2 months time when you have become this vibrant, positive, full of gratitude, 10kg lighter, selfish person that does so much more for themselves now than they used to.  You will be happy to have once read this piece of enlightenment that reminded you of the mindset changes to make to allow you to feel this way.

Give it go, I can guarantee you will be thanking yourself
